Whole Paycheck...Worth Every Penny
I'm obsessed with Whole Foods....like really obsessed. And the new Union Station Whole Foods has taken this obsession to a new level.
Service with a Smile
Their staff was so friendly and helpful! Every employee I encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there, which is hard to come by these days, in any type of retail environment.
I found an amazing salad dressing at their salad bar and I was desperate to find this same dressing bottled in the store. After aimlessly walking around, I was approached by a gentleman working behind the "pre-order your holiday turkey" stand. When I explained what I was searching for, he not only pointed me in the right direction, but then walked me over there. When we realized that the dressing I was searching for was not offered in a bottled version, he recommended I take a soup bowl from the salad bar and fill the dressing into that instead.
He asked if I needed assistance. He wasn't working in that "department" yet made the effort and helped me anyway. Once we found that what I was looking for was not available, he offered me an alternative that still allowed me to get what I wanted.
That is service.
Variety
The amount of options this Whole Foods offers is UNBELIEVABLE!!! It doesn't matter who you are, what type of food and/or allergy restrictions you have, or what you're in the mood for. I guarantee you'll find something delicious at this store. They offer everything from a fried chicken mini restaurant to juices on tap! And quite honestly, they offer absolutely everything in between.
Mac & Cheese Bar
They have a Mac & Cheese Bar....enough said.
FREE Parking!
The parking lot was FREE and didn't make me want to pull my hair out. They offer free parking for your first 2 hours. This is shocking for a brand new downtown facility!! Though I could EASILY spend more than 2 hours at a time there, it's pretty incredible to have them offer this and will absolutely keep me coming back to do my grocery shopping, lunching, dinner-ing etc...(ing)
Lunch with a View
They have a massive seating area that is clean and really nice!!
Granted, the store has only been open for a weekend, so it should be clean at this point. For the amount of people seated there it's easily possible for the place to be dirty, even in a weekend. Therefore, the fact that it's still after a nutty opening weekend speaks volumes to me.
The amount of seating available rivals a mall food court. Even on an incredibly busy opening weekend, I was still able to find a beautiful table not crammed next to anyone else.
This table I found just happened to be on the corner of the outdoor seating area on the second floor (yes they have two floors of seating).
Also, did I mention that this super cute outdoor seating area looks over Union Station? This is a view I'd go to a nice restaurant for! Plus, it's awesome for people watching!
A.A.T. (After Amazon Takeover)
Since Amazon has taken over Whole Foods, the prices are noticeably more reasonable. This is important, very important. I work hard for the money I spend and I want to eat healthy. This normally equates to spending ALL of my hard earned money on healthy foods. I'm so much more likely to shop at Whole Foods when I'm not spending my whole paycheck.
This Place is Amaze-Balls
Well if you haven't noticed already, I'm pretty crazy about this place. I went in expecting a headache and another over-priced market with a salad bar. I walked out feeling like I wanted to turn around and go right back in. It was crazy busy in there, which was to be expected, but everyone was really friendly (again, not a common feeling). Overall the value is worth it. At the end of the day a good value is all you can hope for...well that and a Mac & Cheese Bar.
