Back to MAC - MAC Cosmetics Recycle Program

I am a sucker for makeup, plain and simple. Yesterday I took all of my old, mostly empty MAC Cosmetics containers into their store to take part in their recycling program. 

For every 6 empty or unwanted MAC containers (i.e. empty lip gloss tubes, eyeshadow containers, lipsticks etc…) you receive one FREE Lipglass (their version of gloss), Lipstick or Eyeshadow. They limit you at 24 items which equals 4 free items per visit. Believe it or not I had 25 empty containers yesterday so I was able to pick out 4 new colors for my lip wardrobe!

The only thing you cannot pick from their lipgloss or lipstick line is their specialty items like VIVA GLAM. Since the proceeds of these sales go to charities, they do not offer these in the recycling program. You can still turn these items in, you just can’t pick them as your free item. 

Additionally, you cannot turn in the tiny palette silver eyeshadow containers. Since they’re not a full container they do not count these in the program. 

Moral of the story: Instead of throwing away those old containers, recycle them and get some free makeup, because really who doesn’t want free makeup?!
