I Decided to Press Pause, So Should You...
Hi I’m Nicole…I have anxiety, I often find myself extremely stressed and my schedule is so hectic that I’m constantly juggling priorities. How many people could introduce themselves this way?? Most everyone I know has a lifestyle similar to this. It’s tough right? I go to therapy weekly to help with these aspects of my life (by the way I missed this week because I totally spaced my appointment in the midst of work craziness…the madness never ends!!). I read books to educate myself on how I can limit my stressors and how to better respond when s*&t hits the fan…because it just does and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.
As I’ve entered my thirties and become more comfortable in my own skin (still a work in progress) I’ve learned some ways to help manage my anxieties and stressors…but I’m the first to admit that I am stubborn. With that being said I didn’t want to admit that I needed help to manage these aspects of my life. I thought it was just something I was dealing with that I needed to a better job at fixing. Well guess what, that’s not reality. Sometimes we need help. Whether it be asking for a helping hand or finding an outside solution that can help aid our madness.
Enter Dawn Fable, I was introduced to Dawn through an instagram giveaway I was fortunate enough to win. Dawn is the co-founder of the Press Pause Project. What is Press Pause Project? It’s a line of CBD products to help women press pause when life spins out of control.
Call me naive, or whatever you want to label me as. I am pretty straight laced. I am not interested in anything that alters my body into a state where I don’t have full control. Yes, I believe it’s called being a “control freak”. I was the WORST critic of CBD products. I didn’t understand them, nor believed they were acceptable to take for a “normal” human (basically someone who wasn’t into drugs). When I found out I’d received some products that were CBD based, I quickly dismissed them.
I’m sure glad I didn’t.
What Press Pause Project has done for my life is nothing I ever imagined.
Looking into Press Pause a little more, I learned a lot. I opened my mind outside of my little box that told me CBD was unacceptable to put into my life or that I would be “high” if I used one of these products.
What EXACTLY is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most prevalent and powerful chemical compounds in the cannabis sativa plant. CBD has no toxicity to humans and no psychoactive effects. Today, it is used to support the mind and body in a variety of ways. It is currently being studied by health professionals and scientist around the world for dmyriad health benefits.
How CBD Works with the Human Body
It’s been discovered that we as human have whats called an endocannabinoid system. CBD acts as a lock and key into receptors that make up this system to help balance it out or find homeostasis. This system is known to have distinct functions in human health and overall wellness.
So, What Does it Do for Me?
It gives me the ability to manage, handle and boss through life without losing my s*#t. Truly, in reflection, it’s incredible to see myself handle situations in a calm and poised manner that I normally would have a minor melt down over. This is not a gimmick or a sponsored post that Press Pause is paying me for. I’m writing this to you because I really believe in this line of products, what it can do for women and the ethics this brand has been built upon. It was made for women, by women with the intention of helping. Because we all need a little help whether we want to admit it or not.
The Products I Use
Press Pause offers the following products:
I have proudly tried everything aside from the Muscle & Joint Cream from their line. I love using the tincture and capsules the most. They are easy to take and I truly believe they’ve made a big difference for me day-to-day. The healing balm is also incredibly calming. It has a minty feeling (think icy hot but more beneficial!) The tea is super easy to brew too!!

I still have stress, I still have to work on myself, I still have to educate myself on how to handle situations in a respectful, appropriate manner. This will always be a work in progress, I will always be a work in progress. But, it’s not wrong to look for help or Press Pause on the madness.
