How To Not Wash Your Hair & Still Look Great

Being totally honest with you guys…I hate washing my hair. It takes FOREVER!!! So I wash it once a week on average. It’s just so much work and I’ve FINALLY figured out a way to get a week’s worth of style from it!

Styling My Hair

I have extremely curly hair (I straight up had an afro as a baby…photo evidence to prove it below). I don’t love wearing it curly either. Typically I let it air dry just a bit then I use my Dyson blowdryer (yes it’s expensive, and yes it’s worth it in case you were wondering). I also use a wet brush because I get a lot of tangles and I would NEVER go to another brush!

I don’t typically try to round brush it or make it perfectly straight when blow drying. It takes too long if I try to make it perfect when I’m blow drying. Additionally, I’m going to use my straighter directly following so I don’t need to worry about straightening it out perfectly.

Next up I use my straightener to get my beachy curls. I’ve tried EVERY kind of curling iron and can never get the same results as when I use a straighter. I have a video of my styling my hair in the works so you can see how I get my beach waves. This brocato straighter vibrates when you use it…weird I know but I swear it makes a difference on the smoothness of my curls.

Clips

I love using clips when I’m actually styling my hair and also when I’m trying to hold it up in a style. I will even sleep with one of these in my hair as well! See below for how I keep that hair staying gorgeous for the week!

Slip Pillowcase & Scrunchies

I didn’t know it was a big deal but dear lord it is a BIG DEAL to have a nice pillow case. I’m super cheap, honestly, so when someone told me that these slip pillow cases are $80 and up, I told them they were insane. So obviously I put this at the top of my birthday list and honestly now that I have one…I get it. I totally get it. I should’ve invested in one of these years ago!

Not only do they help with your hair to stay intact and beautiful, but they also help with anti-aging, skin health and hair health too…NO BRAINER!

I have the caramel rose gold color (because obvi) but they have a ton of different colors to fit in with your bedroom aesthetic!

The Method

Here’s the juice….it’s easy to keep those curls intact without having to put a hair net on like grandma did.

Step 1: Flip your head over & gather your hair into a high pony (tip: make sure where the pony tail is that you’ve finger combed through the base so that it doesn’t matte up right where that pony starts.)

Step 2: Then before putting any hair tie or anything on, start to wrap that hair you’ve gathered at the top of your head and wrap it into a top bun.

Step 3: Secure your top bun with EITHER a hair clip or a scrunchie (see my favorites above)

Step 4: Rest and get that beauty sleep!!

Step 5: In the morning let it all down and comb through it with your hands…voila! Style to go!

Dry Shampoo Products

I get it, a few days in…that hair starts looking a little oily. You have to reach for the dry shampoo and I swear I’ve tried every single brand. I’ve tagged my favorites below. Keep in mind that I’m using these on blonde hair with darker roots. For someone with darker hair, some of the other colored ones may work for you and some of these may not work as well because they can have a lighter look on the root.
