Jord Wooden Watches - A Unique Twist on a Timeless Accessory
First things first, I'm a watch fanatic! I LOVE watches, and even more so, I love oversized men's watches as a woman's accessory. When Jord Watches reached out to me for a collaboration, I was beyond excited to check them out.
Why I choose a men's watch over a women's style: I've found that my personal preference is a larger watch. Not just because I'm getting older and can't see as well (this is also true) but I just like the feeling of a larger watch on my wrist. I think it's so important to wear what you love versus what you're "supposed" to wear. If you're confident in your selection, who cares who it was designed for!? I also think that men's watch styles have a wider variety over women's.
Conway Series in Walnut & Jet Black - From an aesthetic point of view, I love the color combination of this watch. The Conway series has a masculine yet sleek look to them. From a functionality standpoint, I really enjoy the chronograph features. Almost no one actually uses the chrono feature, but as a watch lover I appreciate the functionality behind it. Plus the extra sub-dials look good! This watch features a sapphire crystal which is very important! Glass crystals (the portion over the face of the watch that protects the dial) can scratch easily, but with a sapphire crystal, the hardness behind it will allow for more durability and a longer life. I also enjoy the bracelet design of the Conway collection, it's a little more unique with the different sized sections between each piece.
I've seen the Jord watch brand before in our shop, when clients have had theirs adjusted. The wood always made me a little nervous regarding the durability, but I'm now comfortable in saying they're absolutely for everyday wear! With that being said, I highly recommend having Jord do the wrist size adjustment if possible. I obviously trust Hurdle's Jewelry to do the proper adjustment if you're in the Boulder area, but with the wooden design it is a more delicate style to adjust for just any jeweler.
This watch makes for a great gift option too! Their price point is reasonable for any watch lover and they have a huge variety. With a range from $139 - 450, there's a style for everyone! I'm a huge lover of a good presentation. The Jord watch box is so beautiful and makes for a fun gift to open whether it's for yourself or someone else.
