Gear Up for Go-Tober!
Who else has felt the intense need for more nature lately?? This pandemic has made me want to be outdoors and explore more than ever before in my life. I was born and raised here in beautiful Colorado. I’ve always been active and outside growing up, but lately I’ve craved it more than ever before. Here in Colorado, we have hundreds of trails at our fingertips. There’s literally no excuse to not get outside and get moving!
Now let’s pause on how incredible Colorado is to talk about the impact we have on our environment. Who else noticed all of the amazing things that happened in nature when the pandemic happened and we weren’t driving everyday? It was crazy to see what a difference it made for all of us to not be polluting our world everyday on the highways, you could see it in the clearness of the sky! (Pre-wildfire days)
Our world was put on pause and though a lot was dark and icky, it allowed us all to see our footprint on the environment. It also allowed us to get out of our gyms and get active in our communities. I haven’t pulled my bicycle out in YEARS, I mean YEARS. And I’m now going on a 30 min. ride every night after work!
Who else has been biking, hiking and running?! I’ve been all about it lately and guess what?! Colorado’s official “Bike to Wherever Week” is September 21st - 25th. With so many of us working from home or working remotely, Colorado’s previous “bike to work day” is now open to bike wherever for the whole week! The idea is to limit our single occupancy vehicles within our community and opt for a bicycle instead! Bike to dinner, bike to go shopping, bike wherever, whenever!
