I’m all about a good slice of pizza, and if you say you’re not….well then we can’t be friends. Just kidding, but seriously I’ve never had better pizza than from Pizzeria Locale in Denver. They’re a fast-casual restaurant with the benefits and quality of a true Italian pizza. They specialize in Neapolitan style, and let me tell you they’re the real deal. Their dough is made using only 4 ingredients: Flour, Water, Yeast & Salt. It’s fermented overnight and stretched by hand. They have the most incredible pizza oven and it takes 3 minutes for your pizza to be blistered to perfection. I’ve been to Italy and ate SO much pizza while I was visiting. Getting a pizza from Locale is like being transported back to Naples in Italy. Pizzeria Locale is truly neighborhood Neapolitan right here in Denver!

The only thing I wanted for my birthday in July was dessert from Locale (Specifically a Nutella Pizza & Budino) The Nutella Pizza is their delicious pizza dough cooked to perfection, lathered with Nutella then topped with powdered sugar…..seriously yum. Then their budino is a butterscotch pudding with chocolate and whipped cream, it’s freaking incredible.

Picnic Pizza Date

I placed my order on the app (super easy, by the way + I got reward points). I swung by the Central Park location and pulled right up to the front. There’s a ton of parking around that location which makes it super easy to find a spot and enjoy dinner there or pick it up to go like we did.

As soon as I picked up my food, Tre & I crossed the street to the cute little park where we had a picnic pizza date.

All we needed was a blanket and a few pillows to make for a cozy Fall date night. You can absolutely do this as a way to get out of the house (we can all use that right now, in safe distances right?!)

Pro Tip: Pick a blanket that is 10+ feet wide so that you can have a picnic date with friends over 6 ft apart!

We enjoyed so many goodies from the Locale Denver menu including the most DELICIOUS cheesy bread. Y’all, I’m obsessed with cheesy bread and theirs is TO DIE FOR. We also got a few pizzas, Tre loved the BBQ Chicken Pizza. I’m a big fan of the Diavola, but I also loved the Veggie!

Tre knew I wouldn’t share my Cheesy Bread so he ordered the pork meatballs which he tried to eat all himself…don’t worry I still got a few bites in and they were delicious.

We finished off our pizza picnic date with two budinos and a nutella pizza to share. I honestly don’t know which dessert I like better. I’ll eat a bite of budino, and tell you that’s my favorite…then I’ll try a slice of Nutella pizza and it would immediately take lead. They’re both so incredible, I encourage you to try them and let me know which one your favorite is!
